No 7 AELFRED
This engine combines the main features of Sapper and Medea. Its appearance with long side-tanks was inspired by the Vale of Rheidol tank engines. The more generous proportions compared with the earlier tank locos have resulted in a more comfortable cab. Subsequent alterations from inside-frame pony and bogie trucks to outside-frame types have given greater stability to the ride.
