Another development of the Tinkerbell concept, Aelfred was completed in 1985 and was the last locomotive to be constructed at Tucktonia.

Aelfred is a 2-6-4T and features large cylinders and Walschaerts valve gear, a locomotive boiler and a ‘D’ shaped smokebox. It is complete with side tanks a fully enclosed cab which creates extra legroom for the driver and a rear coal bunker.

The design was inspired by the Vale of Rheidol tank engines and is finished in a fully lined larch green livery.
