2nd & 3rd May 2026

This is your chance to see MVR Loco No.1 Sir Goss back at Moors Valley Railway on the May bank holiday weekend.

Our Visiting Loco Weekend sees a special selection of visiting locomotives in steam alongside some of the Moors Valley Railway fleet.

Whilst Sir Goss may be the star of the show we have 3 other locomotives booked for the event, including a returning children’s favourite and a new first time visitor.  Full details to be announced shortly.

Our 2025 event featured:

  • Mrs. Darling – a Tinkerbell-based loco usually found at Swanley New Barn Railway
  • Afon Glaslyn – a River class loco, built by the late Gerry Clarke
  • David Curwen – the ex Dobwalls Railway loco built by David Curwen
  • Julianna – a newly built ‘Super-Tinkerbell’. Photo courtesy of Sam Cook
  • Un-named – formally ran at the Wayside Light Railway

As well as frequent passenger trains, visitors can also enjoy:

  • Double heading on some services
  • Demonstration trains pulling our freight wagon fleet and original Tucktonia covered coaches
