Are you ready for Easter?

With Easter fast approaching our dedicated team of staff and volunteers have been very busy preparing the railway for our many visitors expected over the Easter holidays.

Our locomotive department has just completed the 10 year overhaul of Athelstan. The locomotive has passed it’s boiler test just in time for Easter running.

Our track gang has been out replacing old wooden sleepers with new recycled plastic ones, and adding fresh ballast, whilst our carriage and wagon department are close to completion of four freshly rebuilt carriages, with just the seat upholstery to finish.

Around the railway we have cut the grass, updated the poster boards, restocked the shop and many other small jobs to make the railway ready for Easter. Finally, a volunteer led project to improve our website has resulted in many exciting new updates to provide more information for our visitors, just in time for Easter.

Come and join us for an Easter train ride, we are open every day from Good Friday 29th March to Sunday 14th April inclusive with trains running from 10:45am to 5:00pm.
